Pratik is the Chief Operating Officer of Nium, an advanced global payments platform redefining how consumers and businesses can send, spend, and receive funds around the world.

In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Pratik is responsible for the Finance, Legal, Operations & Customer Service functions. He drives focus on Nium’s financial and legal requirements across all global markets, and also leads the Operations and Customer Service teams, thereby guiding Nium’s efforts to deliver the promise of offering great services and experiences through its customer service centers and representatives.

Pratik brings over 25 years of leadership experience into Nium, having worked for companies such as Arthur Andersen, Xerox, PepsiCo and Telstra before specializing in banking in the last 15 years. Prior to joining Nium’s consumer and SME arm InstaReM in 2016, Pratik was Chief Financial Officer at Fullerton India Credit, a subsidiary of Singapore’s Temasek Holdings. He was also the Chief Finance Officer and Head of Portfolio Management at Standard Chartered Bank Singapore, and the Regional Chief Finance Officer for Consumer Finance Business at Citibank.

Pratik graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) with Finance from the Shri Ram College of Commerce. He is also a Chartered Accountant and a certified Company Secretary.

Frederick is the Chief Revenue Officer at Nium, an advanced global payments platform redefining how consumers and businesses can send, spend, and receive funds around the world. Frederick leads the global Business Development, Marketing, and Communications teams that have helped inform and transform business models for banks, fintechs, and other platforms that needed new payment capabilities in this quickly evolving digital age, and that have made Nium one of the fastest-growing global fintechs in the payment space.

Frederick is a veteran in the cross-border payments and e-commerce space and has catapulted huge global businesses and customer bases at start-ups and enterprise companies alike. In the early days of PayPal, Frederick unlocked the potential of cross-border e-commerce by aligning eBay/PayPal’s massive supply/demand, and providing new functionality for global buyers and sellers to transact. At Western Union, he led a team that transformed digital remittances into the largest growth engine at the company to attain the #1 position in all their global markets. As CRO at Veem, Frederick joined a pioneering team bent on making global SMB bank payments into a five-minute affair. His sales and marketing teams built a network of over 170K SMBs around the world who could send and receive payments in a click, and the partnership team, in turn, brought the capability into the world’s largest small business accounting and e-commerce platforms.

Frederick’s passion for supporting global trade and payments stems from a belief that businesses should not let inter-regional regulations and complexities become barriers to better business models and global opportunity. Teaming with great coworkers, partners, and thought leaders, Frederick hopes technology can make global trade into a simple, unified market where business innovation can thrive.

Frederick is a Bay Area native who, along with his wife and kid, like to travel the world and bring their favourite recipes back home for later enjoyment.

Nilesh is the Chief Technology Officer at Nium, an advanced global payments platform redefining how consumers and businesses can send, spend, and receive funds around the world.

technologist with over 22 years of experience in building high- quality software for various businesses, Nilesh plays a critical role in leading Nium to be at the forefront of innovation within the financial technology space. In his role, Nilesh oversees the building and maintenance of Nium’s core technology platform that powers digital financial services for both businesses and consumers (via InstaReM), directing his team of technologists to drive massive growth at scale across a completely disruptive payments platform.

Prior to his role at Nium, Nilesh was a technology leader for multiple multi-national companies, including digital agency Dentsu (Isobar) and J.P. Morgan.

Nilesh graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering, specializing in Electronics, from the University of Mumbai. He holds a post-graduate diploma in Advanced Computing.

Yogesh is the Global Head of Consumer and SME Business at Nium, an advanced global payments platform redefining how consumers and businesses can send, spend, and receive funds around the world.

Based in the company’s headquarters in Singapore, Yogesh is responsible for expanding Nium businesses across its completely disruptive fintech platform targeted at consumers and SMEs, InstaReM. This involves launching innovative products that will break currency borders and add value to a wide range of customer segments, while at the same time leading consumers and businesses to relook at how they move funds across borders.

Yogesh has led and managed the regional businesses for many well-known companies within the banking, cards and remittances sector, including PayPal, Citibank and MoneyGram. He has spearheaded the digital transformation for some of the global brands in the region, many of which were achieved through the right blend of digital, social and analytical skills – be it acquisition, conversion or experiential engagement.

Yogesh has an MBA from the University of Chicago (Booth School of Business), a Masters in Management Studies, specializing in Marketing from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and initially graduated from the University of Mumbai with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.

Joaquín Ayuso de Paúl is the Head of Labs here at Nium. He is currently working to expand the business into areas such as crypto, investments and lending.

He holds a Computer Science degree at Instituto Católico de Artes e Industrias (ICAI) in Madrid.

He is the co-founder and ex-CTO of Tuenti, a private social network often referred to as the “Spanish Facebook”. He also founded Kuapay, which developed a secure, mobile, payment method platform in Chile and Colombia.

In 2016, Ayuso de Pául founded Denizen, which according to the Financial Times, provides “The world’s first global bank account that will allow account holders to receive money in one country and pay it out in another without incurring any payment fees”. Ayuso de Pául stated that Denizen aims to “Simplify banking for global citizens”.

Most recently, in 2020 he co-founded Rayo, a digital bank for immigrants in the US, which launched in 2021.

Based in Singapore, Katie Mitchell serves as Nium’s Global Head of Government Relations. Katie leads Nium’s engagement with policymakers and regulators across the globe and advances policies around financial inclusion, digital transformation, cross-border payments, and fintech. She also leads strategic market entry strategy for complex and dynamic markets where Nium is seeking to deploy additional solutions for consumers, businesses and government.

Prior to leading Government Relations at Nium, Katie spent a decade at Visa and most recently served as the Head of Strategic Initiatives for Government Engagement. There, she developed a global advisory service for technology partners expanding their operations to regions around the world, and especially into Asia Pacific. Katie also designed and implemented Visa’s global policy positions on emerging technology issues, such as data use policies and central bank digital currency. From Washington, D.C. to Mumbai, Canberra, or Naypyidaw, Katie excelled in on-the-ground relationship building that unlocked new business opportunities and provided wide-spread access to financial inclusion and digital literacy.

Katie serves as an Advisory Board Member to the Emerging Payments Association Asia and as Nium’s representative-designate to the World Economic Forum’s Global Innovators Community. Katie is also an alumnus of the Australian American Leadership Dialogue and is in the Leadership Circle for Foreign Policy for America. Committed to inclusion and service, Katie has also served as a pro-bono consultant to non-profit organisations, start-ups, and new enterprises operating in markets throughout South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East. She has volunteered as an English teacher in the Kurdish region of Northern Iraq and has been part of a documentary film team in Kenya on behalf of the Clinton Global Initiative.

Katie competed as a Division 1 varsity athlete in volleyball and rowing at Columbia University in the City of New York, where she earned her B.A. in International Relations and Political Science. She pursued a post-collegiate rowing career with U.S. national team ambitions as an elite rower at Potomac Boat Club, where she won several elite national titles. She is an ironman triathlete, ultramarathon runner, and successful alpine mountaineer.

Nareg leads M&A, corporate strategy, investor relations, and fundraising. He drives Nium’s inorganic growth strategy through identification and execution of acquisitions and investments.

Nareg brings years of financial services experience, having worked closely with high growth startups. Nareg was previously with Spanish bank BBVA where he led the fintech strategic investing and M&A program, overseeing the group’s activities in the US, Latin America and Europe. Before that, he was a founding member of Citi Ventures, where he invested broadly in fintech. Earlier in his career, Nareg worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.

Nareg graduated with an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Finance from California State University.
